Greg Foster – Councillor - 1997-2000, 2004-2008 and 2024-present

Councillor Greg Foster lives in Hubbard’s Point with his wife, Maureen. Together, they are proud parents of two adult sons, Chris and Andrew, who have chosen to remain in Nova Scotia.
Greg has had a diverse and impactful career, including roles as a community development organizer, immigration officer, marine plant resource manager, and schoolteacher. Currently, he works as a substitute teacher, bringing his passion for education to the classroom.
Beyond teaching, Greg is a licensed part-time commercial fisherman, harvesting gaspereau and smelts with gill nets. He also holds a commercial license for harvesting large eels. This role reflects his commitment to sustainable fishing practices and his connection to the natural resources that sustain the community.
Now serving his third term as Councillor, Greg has a long history of dedicated public service. He has been elected multiple times to both Municipal Council and the school board, demonstrating his steadfast commitment to local governance. Additionally, he has made meaningful contributions as a volunteer, leading community projects that continue to benefit residents.
Greg credits his upbringing and varied experiences with fostering a deep respect for the environment and a strong dedication to protecting natural resources. He believes in the importance of maintaining a sustainable fishery, recognizing it as the lifeblood of the community and a vital part of its future.
Known for his approachable demeanour, effective communication, and in-depth understanding of local issues, Greg takes pride in listening to and working with the residents and taxpayers of the Municipality of Argyle. He remains committed to serving his community with integrity, vision, and a focus on its long-term prosperity.
