PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT at its Executive Council Meeting of June 26, 2025, Council approved first reading of "By-Law #43 Outdoor Illumination and Light Pollution".

A copy of the proposed by-law is available by clicking here.

Thanks to thoughtful and legitimate feedback from our residents, we’re making changes to the draft Outdoor Lighting and Light Pollution By-Law — and opening the door to even more conversations before the final reading.

Council is committed to protecting our night sky, but we know there’s more than one way to get there. We want to hear from you — residents, business owners, and community members — to find the right path forward for Argyle.

There is no enforcement until 2027. This by-law is about long-term change, not overnight penalties.

The current draft encourages:
✅ Aiming outdoor lights downward
✅ Using warm-coloured bulbs
✅ Avoiding bright white or blue LEDs
✅ Turning lights off when not needed

Stay tuned — we’ll be giving opportunities to share your ideas and help shape the final version.
