The Council of Municipality of the District of Argyle will be holding a Public Hearing to consider proposed amendments to the Land Use Bylaw related to wind energy development. A general description of the proposed amendments is provided below.
Large Scale Wind Turbine and Wind Farm Regulations
- Amend Section 8.1 of the Land Use Bylaw to require new large-scale wind turbines to be located at least 1000 metres from permanent dwellings, and at least 300 metres from seasonal dwellings and camps.
The Public Hearing will take place in Council Chambers at 5 Rue J. E. Hatfield Court in Tusket on Thursday, March 30, 2023, beginning at 6:30 p.m.. All persons with an interest in these matters are invited to participate by:
- Attending the Public Hearing in person
- Attending virtually via Zoom by registering on or before Wednesday, March 29, 2023
- Providing a written submission before 4:00 pm on the Public Hearing date
Copies of the proposed amendments may be viewed by interested persons between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Mondays to Fridays, excluding holidays, at the Argyle Municipal Office, 5 Rue J. E.
