An all too familiar sight
When irresponsible people choose to dump their waste where it doesn't belong, everyone's quality of life is affected. Rainwater filtering through the garbage has the potential to damage groundwater and fish habitat.
Children and wildlife may be harmed and rats and mosquitoes may be attracted. The trash in the woods and on the beach spoils recreational experiences. These are just some of the negative effects that have resulted from illegal garbage dumps in our municipality.
Illegal dumping is a serious offence punishable by fines and jail time.
Don't let illegal garbage dumping compromise your quality of life! If you see someone dumping garbage where it doesn't belong, please report them to us by calling (902) 648-2623.
