Yarmouth / Argyle District Planning

Providing the three partner municipal communities with land use planning, mapping services and technical support for the development services of the Municipalities.

The YABPC is a multi-functional agency established by Provincial Statute in 1984 to provide land use planning, mapping and technical development support services to the Councils of the three partner municipalities. The Commission is funded jointly by the Municipalities of Argyle, Yarmouth and Barrington. The governing board of the Commission consists of six members. There are two representatives appointed from each municipal unit, the Wardens of each municipality and Chairmen of the individual Municipal Planning Advisory Committees. The Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Commission are appointed for two year terms and the Chair alternates between each of the three participating units in turn.

The Commission maintains a staff whose duties are to provide land use planning, mapping and support for development services to the member municipal units.
